When he finally arrived, he says, the model's mother and sister told him she wasn't home and to come back later. Hooker did as he as asked, but was rebuffed a second time, his suit claims. After spending the night on the beach, Hooker went to her front gate and tried to get the model on the phone. The police came, searched his luggage and, according to court papers, informed him that Schiffer had told police he 'was not welcome at her home'. The incident was enough to make Schiffer flee her Majorca villa. In 2001, she was stalked by a naked midget. No joke. The 4-foot fan turned up unclothed, riding a bicycle at the German beauty's mother Gudrun's home and rang the bell. But police who were called by her family could not arrest him because of a bizarre German law. He was selling postcards he made - and that made him a performing artist who was going about his normal business. Claudia says, "The police couldn't detain him because of this strange law." Another man sent her a letter every day. She continues, "He wrote me these very sweet letters, but then one day I got my mail and it smelled kind of funny. I opened it and discovered there was a dead bird inside." Claudia, who has dated magician David Copperfield and Green Shield Stamps heir Tim Jeffries, has been plagued by bizarre fans for years, prompting her to hire armed guards. Schiffer was born in Rheinberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and began modeling in 1987, after being spotted in a nightclub in Düsseldorf. Just weeks later she appeared in ELLE and within a short time she began modeling for Chanel. In the early 1990s she starred in Guess? jeans ads in North America. She has appeared in a number of motion pictures and has also appeared in the music video of Westlife's cover of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl," as the iconic uptown girl. On May 25, 2002, she married film producer Matthew Vaughn, son of George Albert Harley Drummond (also known as George de Vere Drummond). It was widely reported at the time of Schiffer's marriage that one day she could become the Countess of Oxford because her father-in-law was in line of succession to the Earldom of Oxford and Mortimer. She is disqualified on two counts: Vaughn's illegitimacy would bar him from any succession and Drummond is not in line for succession as he is not descended from the male line. Schiffer and Vaughn have two children together; son Caspar Matthew, born in London on January 30, 2003 and daughter Clementine, born in London on November 11, 2004.
